Season 10

Ten years ago, Theater Alliance fearlessly made a home in a neighborhood scarred by decades of violence.  The company’s presence heralded a wave of renewal along the H Street Corridor, which has now become known as an arts and entertainment district.  On the cusp of its tenth season, Theater Alliance finds itself facing a season of change, as the H Street Playhouse is slated for a change of ownership in January 2013.  Never a company to back away from a challenge even in the midst of uncertainty, Theater Alliance is proud to announce an ambitious Season Ten.  This line-up will include a World Premiere by a DC-based playwright, a co-production with The HUB Theatre, and a special limited presentation by acclaimed spoken-word performer Marc Bamuthi Joseph.

“Theater Alliance’s 2012-2013 Season is a thrilling exploration of identity and what it means to be a hero, whether super or otherwise,” says Artistic Director Colin Hovde.  “We are excited and honored to be partnering with both The Atlas Performing Arts Center and The HUB Theatre throughout the coming months.  The final show to grace the stage of the H Street Playhouse will be Jason Lott and Helen Pafumi’s outstanding Wonderful Life.  At this time, we do not have a finalized plan for our location after Playhouse closes its doors, but stay tuned for an exciting announcement from us in the fall.”
